The Shared Care team works in health clinics, schools and community based programs and services, such as Phoenix Youth Programs, to extend mental health and addictions support to children and youth up to 19 years of age and their families who may not seek support from the IWK Mental Health and Addictions Program directly.

The team also helps family doctors and nurses, school-based social workers and community based programs and services to provide the best possible mental health and addictions support in the community by providing mental health and addictions expertise. Currently, Shared Care staff work with the Dalhousie Family Medicine (Spryfield site), Spryfield Family Medicine, North End Community Health Clinic and Duffus Health Clinic. 

The goal is to help children, youth and their families get the best possible mental health and addictions support in settings familiar to them.
